Rahman, an Afghan citizen who converted from Islam to Christianity twenty-
five years ago. When Rahman sought custody of his children, Muslim family
members reported his conversion to authorities. Now Rahman is being
tried in Afghanistan for rejecting Islam. A guilty verdict apparently entails
the death penalty.
