Editorial
Statement
Scott D. Gelfand, Co-Editor,
Oklahoma State University—Stillwater
In the inaugural issue of The Pluralist, Randy Auxier provided
an elegant history of this journal and its predecessor, The Personalist
Forum. Randy also explained what he believes is the mission of the
The Pluralist. In accord with this mission, the editors (Randy
Auxier, John Shook, and I) decided to dedicate one issue per year to values:
the fields of ethical theory, applied ethics, social theory, politics,
and related topics. As the primary editor of this issue, I would like
to explain briefly my interest in pluralism.
